Twiducate
Thanks to a conversation that I had with @Sharon_Drummond and @DoremiGirl this weekend, I learned about Twiducate: a social network for educators and their students. I was able to build a class and have students interact with each other as well as with me through this Twiducate account. Twiducate is private, so the posts are only viewable to others in the network. I tried Twiducate for the first time with my class today (up in the computer lab), and they loved it. They really enjoyed choosing their avatars and sharing some information about their weekend: our first post. To give you a glimpse of what we did, I took some screenshots of their posts and placed them below (click on the screenshots to enlarge them). I look forward to using Twiducate more with my class, and for those of you that have used it, I would love to hear about some of your success stories with this tool too.

I’ve done something very similar with twiducate. When my students ‘recount’ their weeeknds, I have them colour code their answers to see if every necessay detail is included. Check out the highlighter in the twiducate message box tool bar.
You can even take it further by having other students ‘connect’ to the recounts and comment their connections back. Its amazing how far they will take it.

I LOVE this idea! Thank you for sharing it. I’m definitely going to have to try out the highlighter tool. Can’t wait to try something new!
Thanks again!
